It's time for the 4th Annual Harvey Bernhardt Foundation Golf Tournament, October 3, 2011 at Deerwood Country Club.

We are starting early this year and already have sponsors lined up.  Last year was our first sell-out, so don't wait to long to get your foursome.  Each golfer is treated to a box lunch provided by Jason's Deli, a round of golf at Deerwood Country Club, one of Jacksonville’s premier courses, a shot at $10,000 through our Putting Contest and cocktails and awards after the end of play.

Registration begins at 11:30 am with a shotgun start promptly at 12:30 pm.  100% of all tournament proceeds will benefit The Harvey Bernhardt Foundation.

Single players start at $300 and include a box lunch as well as a reception following the golf tournament.  In addition, sponsorships are available ranging from $350 for a hole sponsor to $10,000 for our Presenting Sponsor (includes 4 foursomes).

Don't like to golf, but would like to help? About the Foundation

The Harvey Bernhardt Foundation was started in honor of Harvey Bernhardt, a pathologist from Jacksonville who served the community for more than 20 years.  Dr. Bernhardt suffered from polio as a baby but never let any obstacle stop him in his life.  He graduated high school at 15 and medical school at 23.  He came to Jacksonville in 1971 with the Navy and settled here with his wife Regina, and three children.  His spirit and drive infected all those around him and his family and friends started the foundation to continue spreading his spirit throughout the North Florida community. 

The mission of The Harvey Bernhardt Foundation is to provide one-time financial assistance working members of the North Florida community who have suffered a financial hardship due to a medical or natural disaster or as a victim of crime.  Recipients must be citizens living and working in the North Florida community and should be referred by a community leader.  Our first gift was given to a member of the community who truly epitomizes Dr. Bernhardt’s community spirit and his drive to never give up.  Bob Rhodin is a teacher at Fletcher High School and you can read more about his gift here.
